100 Consultants Making a Difference in Workplace Mental Health

Lisa Burt Makes Workforce Wellbeing a Shared Enterprise Responsibility

Lisa Burt is Senior Vice President at Aon, where she has spent years working on the firm’s Health Transformation Team and leads a national team of workforce wellbeing and engagement consultants. Her work focuses on helping organizations develop workforce wellbeing strategies that connect employee needs with the broader structures, policies, and environments shaping how people experience work.

Lisa holds a master’s degree in experimental psychology from Eastern Michigan University. Her background brings together academic psychological  research, corporate health program design, and fitness expertise, giving her a multidisciplinary perspective on workplace mental health and wellbeing.

Lisa believes workforce mental health cannot be treated as a stand-alone program or the sole responsibility of HR. Real progress demands organizational-wide commitment, driven by leadership and focused on three areas: high quality mental health care, psychologically safe teams, and everyday workplace practices that build wellbeing into the way work gets done.

“Workforce mental health and overall wellbeing are not ‘nice-to-haves’ owned by HR; they are a shared, enterprise-wide responsibility. There is no silver-bullet solution—it takes sustained commitment and continuous adaptation. Progress depends on clear, consistent signals from every level of leadership promoting programs that support psychological safety and healthy team dynamics; on programs that genuinely deliver access and quality care; and on employees who actively practice inclusion and belonging in their everyday interactions. The real differentiator is the connective tissue—structures, policies, and environments that embed wellbeing into how work gets done—because those foundations are just as critical as any program leaders choose to launch.”
