About The Role

We’re seeking a leader to grow our sales as we rapidly scale our business. As VP of Sales, you’ll build a repeatable sales process, drive lead-development in partnership with our marketing team, and hire and train a world-class team. As an early-stage startup, you’ll also be running your own enterprise deals and managing your own book of business during the first year.

If you’ve got a knack for sales strategy, building scalable processes, and hiring and coaching teams, are excited to roll up your sleeves and close deals, and want to do something you truly believe in, this is the opportunity for you!

In this job, you will:

  • Own and lead Journey’s sales efforts by creating and implementing a sales strategy to generate leads, expand to new markets, and increase close rates
  • Create a predictable sales process leading to shorter sales cycles, better qualification processes, and more customer growth
  • Lead hiring and coaching of sales team members to ensure that the team has the capacity to hit big goals
  • Close multi-million dollar enterprise deals through your ability to sell to first-time buyers who are purchasing a new kind of product. You will be spending a large portion of your time running your own deals in the first year.


What makes you a great fit for this role:

  • You’ve successfully run and scaled a sales team at a SaaS startup
  • You have experience closing multi-million dollar enterprise deals
  • You don’t mind – or perhaps even like – having a book of business and driving your own deals
  • You’ve successfully built a sales process from the ground up that includes distinct stages and decision points
  • You have a distinct philosophy and approach to both hiring and coaching a sales team
  • You’re excited to lead a growing sales team at a fast-growing tech company that makes a difference in this world


  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance. Journey contributes to a portion of the medical insurance premium, provided through Aetna.
  • Vacation Days. Team members receive 3 weeks of paid vacation and unlimited unpaid personal days off.
  • Mental Health Days. Two additional Mental-Health Days are available per quarter and are meant to be used for times of self-care.
  • Parental Leave. 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave for birthing, non-birthing, and adoptive parents is available after one year of employment. Journey also offers paid leave for pregnancy loss.
  • Wisdom Money. Team members receive $1,000 per year to spend on personal development activities, such as meditation classes and retreats, as they see fit.
  • Productivity Stipend. Team members receive $1,000 to spend on co-working spaces, a new desk chair, or whatever they need to make their work environment more comfortable.
  • Learning & Development Stipend. Journey is invested in your continuous growth. Each year, team members are eligible for up to $500 to spend on professional development opportunities of their choosing.
  • Journey’s Preventative Mental Health Program: Of course, team members have access to our preventative mental health solution to stay happy, healthy, and mentally and emotionally fit.
